Stevens Design Studio Partners with Goodwill Industries

Public Awareness of Goodwill's Mission
Stevens Design Studio has partnered with Goodwill Industries of the Springfield/Hartford Area to develop and launch a comprehensive marketing strategy. These plans include public relations initiatives as well as print communication and website development, all to educate the public on the mission of Goodwill. Stevens Design Studio has created a strategic marketing plan to bring attention to Goodwill's retail stores and generate interest in the organization's specialized employment and training services. Interviews with staff have been conducted and market research completed in order to develop their website and other support materials to further their fundraising and community outreach goals.

Goodwill's Annual Appeal
Stevens Design Studio recently managed Goodwill's Annual Appeal with a goal of collecting 100,000 pounds of gently-used clothing, toys and household items. By directing television ads, writing radio scripts and creating print ads, Stevens Design Studio was able to generate public awareness of the campaign. In addition, Stevens Design Studio built Goodwill a new website with information about the services provided by Goodwill, complete details on the Annual Appeal and the capability to accept financial donations online. Stevens Design Studio also arranged Goodwill partnerships with area businesses to hold donation drives throughout the greater Springfield area.

Over 273,000 Pounds!
The Annual Appeal was a great success and Goodwill exceeded their goal of 100,000 pounds of donated goods. The final tally of items donated reached over 273,000 pounds with financial donations over eight thousand dollars! "It has been a pleasure to work with Goodwill, meet their dedicated staff and many of the recipients of Goodwill's employment services. We are all very appreciative of the public's generosity as they became aware of Goodwill's donation needs and better understood their overall mission to serving the disabled and disadvantaged right here in our community" said Tina Stevens, Principal and Creative Director of Stevens Design Studio "We are already planning for the next donation drive" she added.

Goodwill's mission is to provide services to individuals, families and communities including people with disabilities. They seek to eliminate barriers to opportunities and foster self-determination in order to improve the quality and dignity of life and full participation in the community. More than 84 percent of Goodwill's total revenues are used to fund education, career services, and other critical community programs.
